TESTTYPE Version 1.01 programmed April 1991, June 1993 by Mark D. Rejhon.
The archive containing TESTTYPE has the following files:

   TESTTYPE.EXE....The typing benchmark program
TESTTYPE.BAS....Public domain QuickBASIC 4.x source code
   README..........This file

This utility is a simple, quick typing speed benchmark program that you
can use to time your typing speed. All you have to do is type "TESTTYPE"
at the DOS prompt. When in TESTTYPE, you can type anything you want.
(Perhaps copy a paragraph from a magazine, or pretend you are chatting
to another person). Hit Esc quickly when you're done. A wealth of stats
will be printed. Yes, the W.P.M. rate is indeed part of the stats. :-)
Don't forget to keep relaxed while you do a benchmark of yourself.
(I get zillons of typos if I was too tense!)
